Harvesting bird’s nests is one the most important local industries on Cham Islands. To honor the first harvesters from centuries ago, the Cham Islands Bird’s Nest Festival takes place every year during the third lunar month. In two days, locals dress up in traditional attire to perform colorful ceremonies at the Ancestral Temple of Bird’s Nest Gatherers. Afterwards, travelers and locals can take part in Hoi An folk games such as bai choi and sample local delicacies at the festival’s food fair.
